How to choose a restoration provider

You should understand who will do the work, what you are approving and how the bill is calculated. Use this checklist with any provider, including one introduced through a referral service.

Verify the business directly

Ask for the legal business name, proof of current insurance and references for similar work. If a credential is advertised, verify it with the issuing organization. A badge on a website is not verification. Check applicable Texas licensing when the scope involves regulated trades or mold work.

Read the scope before signing

A clear estimate should distinguish immediate mitigation from later repairs. Ask which materials will be removed, how equipment days are counted, who monitors drying and what happens if hidden damage is found. Do not sign an incomplete agreement or one with blank spaces.

Agree on documentation

Ask for the initial assessment, progress records and completion evidence. Confirm how you will receive photos, moisture readings and invoices. If an insurer is involved, ask what it needs directly; a provider cannot guarantee that a claim will be paid.

Understand the relationship

You contract directly with the restoration business. This site is an independent connection service and does not supervise work, employ crews or certify providers. Any referral compensation will be disclosed before a connection is made.
